Restrictions on Celebrations

Restriction issued by Odisha State Government, Christmas and New Year celebrations to be paused on the arrival of 3rd covid wave Omnicron.

Christmas and New Year are ringing the doorbells asking to let the celebrations begin on the eve of their arrivals but to everyone’s despair new COVID variant Omicron is eagerly waiting for a chance to spread its severity into mass. Checking upon the present scenario, Odisha state government has imposed strict restrictions on Christmas and Zero night celebrations from 25th December,2021 till 2nd January,2022 ,after two more new Omicron patients detected in the state increasing the no.of patients to four.

People arriving from the fourteen identified Countries “at risk” by Indian government will have to stay in a compulsory home quarantine inspite of being covid negative detected from the airport screening.

Christmas celebrations is limited to churches with participations of maximum 50 persons. The people involved in this celebrations have to follow all covid protocols and rules imposed by the local authorities.

 No Zero Night New Year celebrations. Parties in hotels, parks, clubs, restaurants, kalayan Mandaps, convention halls, etc is strictly restricted by state government. All types of cultural celebrations and community feasting is prohibited too.

Partial ban on marriages is imposed by the state government as marriage are allowed but no other celebrations related to it (like receptions and ancillary functions) is allowed.

Funeral rites can be conducted obeying the covid protocols. Gatherings and crowding during these marked days will be strictly checked out.
