WORLD’S FIRST DUAL VEHICLE TO RUN IN JAPAN

(The Quiver) Japan is best known for its highly and innovate technical development all over the world. Japan is going to start the world first dual bus and rail vehicle from this X-mas day onwards . The  latest feature of this dual-mode vehicle is that it can efficiently run on both roads and railway tracks . This service is most probably rolling out from next month in the Shikoku region.

Having cleared all safety checks by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The vehicles will be running on a total of 50-kilometers of which 10 km will be on a railway track. This transport service will be connecting the town of Kaiyo in Tokushima Prefecture and the city of Muroto in Kochi Prefecture as confirmed by Asa Seaside Railway Corp. in Tokushima Prefecture .

The DMV is a diesel-powered bus that has been fitted with an extra set of wheels on the undercarriage, which would take about 15 seconds to change wheel in order to travel on railway tracks. A capacity of 23 passengers and crew can be carried by this bus.

The Tokushima Prefectural Government hopes the DMV will become a tourist draw and help to boost the local economy, as much of Japan has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

 According to the company as the DMV is lighter than a traditional train, the vehicle may also be useful during the time of natural disasters such as earthquakesdue to its dual feature. It also requires less fuel and is easier to maintain.

 A technical panel at the ministry reviewed the test results using the upgraded parts and gave the green light for the vehicle to go into operation.
