Expensive Allowances Of Employees Increased By 3%

(The Quiver) Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has announced a three per cent increase in the cost of living allowance for state government employees. As a result, the cost of living allowance for government employees has risen from 28 percent to 31 percent. The Chief Minister has also decided to pay 30 per cent arrears of the Seventh Pay Commission.

The revised rate of pensions for pensioners has also been increased by three per cent. It will benefit 7.5 million government employees and pensioners in the state.

According to the Seventh Pay Commission, “Initially employees have received 50 per cent of their increased pay from January 2018 to August 2018. The Seventh Pay Commission has decided to pay 30 percent of the arrears in this New Year”. It will benefit 600,000 government employees in the state.
