Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Tests Positive Of Covid-19

(The Quiver) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is tested positive for Covid-19. The CM informed about his illness through his twitter post. He has requested everyone who came in contact with him in the last few days to get tested. Arvind Kejriwal has isolated himself since he got covid-19 infections.

“I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch with me in last few days, kindly isolate yourself and get yourself tested” tweeted Arvind Kejriwal.

Arvind Kejriwal has been travelling to the election-bound states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Goa to review the Aam Admi Party’s poll preparedness. Over the past week, Kejriwal attended rallies and events in Dehradun, Lucknow, Amritsar, Patiala, and Chandigarh.

On the first day of vaccinating teenagers aged 15-18, Delhi administered the first shot to 20,998 children. Numbers are expected to go up from Tuesday when districts start vaccinating at camps. As many as 1.01 million children are eligible for the shot, as per Delhi government data.

Meanwhile, with Covid cases on the rise, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Monday said over 81% of the total samples sequenced over the last two days were found to have the Omicron variant. Of the 187 samples sequenced in the two days, 152 were classified as omicron, as per the data shared by the Delhi government.

The city reported 4,099 new Covid -19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the positivity rate in the national capital to 6.46 percent, as reported by Delhi’s health department bulletin on Monday.

The active cases in the city have gone to 10,986 and the cumulative tally of the covid-19 cases now stands at 14,58,220. In the last 24 hours, Delhi also witnessed one Covid- related death taking the death toll to 25,100.
