High Five: India clinch record fifth title with thrilling win

(The Quiver): India romped to a record-extending 5th U19 World Cup title after outclassing England in the final of the 2022 edition of the tournament at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Saturday, February 5. Yash Dhull’s men finished with an unbeaten run in the West Indies, flaunting the strength of the assembly line of next-gen India cricketers at the world stage once again.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, England struggled to find momentum in their innings. The pace duo of Raj Bawa and Ravi Kumar kept striking at regular intervals to trouble the English.Β India did the next best thing: bowl out the opposition for a total 189 in this case, in 44.5 overs.

In reply, Shaik Rasheed (50 off 84) and Nishant Sindhu smashed fifties while Raj Bawa (35 off 54) also played a vital knock and helped India chase the target in 47.4 overs.
