India Register 6-Wicket Win Over West Indies in 1000th ODI

(The Quiver): A dominant Team India registered a clinical 7-wicket win over West Indies in their historic 1000th ODI match on Sunday at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Chasing a target of 177, Suryakumar Yadav hit the winning runs for India on last ball of the 28th over. Riding on a quickfire 60 from captain Rohit Sharma and spin-bowling masterclass from Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar, India asserted their authority over Kieron Pollard-led West Indies who were looking flat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first on a spin-friendly track. Indian cricket team’s star leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (4/49) finally found his mojo back as he bowled amazingly in 1st ODI.

He was supported well by Washington Sundar (3/30) as the all-rounder got some crucial breakthroughs. Thanks to remarkable spells from Chahal and Sundar, Windies got all out for 176.
