Earthquake of 7.3 Magnitude Jolts Japan ;Triggers Tsunami Warning, 2 Million Homes Lose Power

(The Quiver) : A 7.3 magnitude earthquake jolted northern Japan on Wednesday night , triggering a tsunami alert in the island country. The earthquake was recorded on the coast of Fukushima.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said the quake struck 60 kilometers (36 miles) below the sea. Tokyo Electric Power said that nearly 2.1 million households were without power after the earthquake.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
