Japanese PM Kishida Set To Announce Plan To Invest $42 Billion In India During His Visit To New Delhi, PRIME MINISTERS FIRST MEETING

(The Quiver) : Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is set to announce a plan to invest 5 trillion yen, or $42 billion, in India over the next five years during his first visit to the country.

Kishida is visiting New Delhi at Modi’s invitation for the 14th India-Japan annual summit which will take up various bilateral issues as well as global developments, particularly the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This will be the Japanese PM’s first meeting with Modi in his new role. He has met the Indian leader when he was Japan’s foreign minister.According to the report, Kishida is expected to approve an approximately 300 billion yen loan during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An energy cooperation document concerning carbon reduction is also likely to be signed.

The Japanese PM mentioned, “With Prime Minister Modi of India, I plan to confirm our intention to work towards the success of the Quad summit meeting among the leaders of Japan, India, Australia, and the United States to be held in Tokyo within the next few months, as well as our cooperation.”
