TWO DAYS BHARAT BANDH HITS HARD ON DAY TODAY LIVES, KNOW IN DETAIL

(The Quiver):A joint forum of central trade unions has called for a 2-day nationwide strike on Monday and Tuesday (March 28 and March 29)  protesting against Central government policies that are affecting the workers, farmers and people.

Reportedly, some essential services are likely to be affected which  includes banking services, electricity, transportation and railways.

The employees’ unions in railways, roadways, transport workers and electricity workers had announced to participate in the strike. Workers from other sectors such as steel, oil, telecom, coal, postal, income tax, copper, and insurance are likely to join the two-day-long strike

Due to the impact of Bharat Bandh ,the petrol pumps in Bhubaneswar remained closed for a few hours on today morning. However, a few pumps are opened to help consumers as the latter appealed to the staffers.

Meanwhile , The banks across the country have also joined the strike .All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has joined the strike opposing  the Banking Laws Amendment Bill 2021. The strike is also called to oppose the Central government’s move to privatize public sector banks.

In view of Bharat Bandh Rama Devi Women’s University (RDWU)  and Ravenshaw University have postponed the scheduled exams.
