HEATWAVE ALERT IN ODISHA : MERCURY HIT 43 DEGREE CELSIUS
(The Quiver) : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a rise in the maximum (day) temperature in several parts of Odisha . Scorching heat waves sweep several districts these days. The coming days are going to be very difficult to manage.
The weather will remain dry across the state and hot winds are likely to intensify from the northwest. The mercury can touch 43 degrees Celsius in some areas, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed.
The latest temperature recorded in Bhubaneswar 34.2 degree Celsius and in Cuttack is 30.2 degree celsius.
The maximum temperature will gradually rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next three days. It will be significantly above normal at many places during the next three-four days, a bulletin said.
A yellow warning of the second heatwave is released for some places in Boudh, Bolangir, Bargarh and Subarnapur for upcoming days. Such conditions are likely prevail in Kalahandi, Angul and Sambalpur on Thursday and Friday.
People should wear light clothes and avoid going outside during the afternoon unless necessary.
