Private Vaccination Centres Cannot Exceed The Service Charge For Booster Dose More Than Rs 150 ; Adar Poonawalla Revised On The Previous Rate Of Booster Dose : Know What Is The Latest Price Of SII’s Booster Dose
(The Quiver) : The latest announcement of Government of India states , ” Private vaccination centres can charge up to a maximum of Rs 150 as a service charge over and above the cost of the third shot of the Covid-19 vaccine”.
Reportedly , the third dose of the vaccine to be administered to 18+ population will be the same vaccine which was administered previously as the first and the second dose , revealed by the Union Health Secretary after meeting with all health secretaries of state and Union territories.
“Adding an extra layer of safety! Precaution Dose to be available to 18+ age group from 10th April, 2022, at Private Vaccination Centres. All 18+ who have completed 9 months after administration of 2nd dose, would be eligible for Precaution Dose,” Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted after the announcement.
The booster dose had already been administered to the frontline workers and to the people of age 60 and above it , with free of costs but as per the latest declaration of the central government others citizens will have to pay for it , they can receive the precautionary dose only from the private vaccination centres.
Meanwhile , Adar Poonawalla , the CEO of Serum Institute of India on revising upon the previous fixed rate of covishield booster dose announced,”We are pleased to announce that after discussion with the Central Government , SII has decided to revise the price of COVISHIELD vaccine for private hospitals from Rs.600 to Rs 225 per dose. We once again commend this decision from the centre to open precautionary dose to all 18 +”.
As per the latest information , Covovax, which has not received approval as a booster shot, will be priced around ₹900 plus taxes, once approved . If any further changes in price of this dose announced, will be informed to our readers.
