HOW IS OUR BHUBANESWAR IN ITS 74TH FOUNDATION DAY ?

Bhubaneswar (The Quiver): Today , Odisha’s  capital city Bhubaneswar is celebrating its 74th Foundation day. World renowned German architect and urban planner Otto Koenigsberger prepared the city’s first master plan in 1948 for a population of 40 thousand. On April 13, 1948 that first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had laid the foundation stone of the city.

In the smart city proposal , Bhubaneswar stands as one among the best cities of India with a score of 78.83 points. Today’s ‘Temple city’ has transformed into ‘Smart City’ over the years with modern facilities like healthcare, education, road communication and illumination. The city is now being considered as the ‘Sports Capital’ of the country with several modern infrastructures and coaching facilities for various games. The city has hostedh a number of mega international competitions since the last few years.

Wishing people of Odisha on the auspicious day , Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stated that transformation in culture, education, healthcare, and sports have made Bhubaneswar a major smart city in the country.

To celebrate this special day of capital city , a cultural competition is scheduled to be held in the afternoon at Utkal Mandap in front of Indira Gandhi Park.

These hints that future of our Bhubaneswar will be more brighter.
