NOW CHILDREN OF 5 YEARS WILL RECEIVE VACCINE
(The Quiver) : The Drugs controller General of India(DCGI) has given its approval for the administration of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin vaccine to the children of age group 6-12 years.
Presently Covaxin, is being administered to children in the age group of 15-18 years and adults.
On Thursday, the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) had reviewed Bharat Biotech’s application seeking grant of marketing authorisation for additional indication for Covid-19 vaccine for restricted use in emergency situations in the age group 6-12 years.
DCGI also approves ZycovD (Zydus Cadila Vaccine) for Children above the age of 12 years and Corbevax for the children of age of 5-12 years
