EX CONGRESSMAN KAPIL SIBAL FILES FRESH NOMINATION IN RAJYA SABHA WITH SAMAJWADI

Senior leader Kapil Sibal filed a Rajya Sabha nomination as an Independent candidate.

New Delhi(The Quiver) : On Wednesday , Congress’s ex-heavyweight  leader Kapil Sibal filed his nomination  for a fresh term in Rajya Sabha with support of Samajwadi party.

Speaking exclusively to Media, Sibal said,  “I told Akhilesh ji that I wanted to go to RS and to please support me as an Independent. After 30 years, it was time to quit and work as an Independent, would not speak against Congress now at any point. I have a good relationship with many opposition leaders. My wife says we have a connection with Uttar Pradesh.”

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav reacting over this said, “Today Kapil Sibal filed his nomination. He is going to Rajya Sabha with SP’s support. Two more people can go to the House. Kapil Sibal is a senior lawyer. He has presented his opinions well in Parliament. We hope he’ll present the opinions of both SP as well as himself.”

Sibal  was one of the loyal congress party leader who had defended the government when it faced criticism over the 2G spectrum allocation scam and refuted the notional loss theory emphasising there was “zero loss”.

On losing satisfaction over the Congress leadership Sibal has been vocal in his criticism and had called for a non-Gandhi as the new party chief. Over the past few years, several prominent leaders, including Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasada, Ashwani Kumar, RPN Singh, have abandoning the Congress.
