DUTIFUL CORRUPTED MINISTERS NAWAB MALIK , ANIL DESHMUKH MOVE TO BOMBAY HIGH COURT FOR BAIL TO VOTE IN RS POLLS

These corrupted ministers being duty-bound moves to Bombay High court seeking for one day bail to vote in RS polls.

(The Quiver) : Former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh and minority affairs minister Nawab Malik have moved the Bombay high court seeking permission to vote in the Rajya Sabha poll after the special PMLA court rejected their pleas seeking for one day bail to vote in Rajya Sabha polls.

 The Enforcement Directorate had arrested Nawab Malik in a money laundering case. The Maharashtra Minister  has been in jail since his arrest in February. According to ED, Malik allegedly funded a prominent member of the D-Gang (Dawood gang) for illegal occupation of a property. The state’s former home minister Anil Deshmukh is also in jail on similar allegations.

Both the prisioners ministers had requested for one day bail to cast their vote in Rajya Sabha election on Friday.

Nawab Malik had told the court that he is an elected MLA and is duty-bound to represent the residents of his constituency in electing a representative to Rajya Sabha. The Enforcement Directorate objecting their bail pleas stated that prisoners cannot vote as per Representation of People (RPA) Act.
