A post of Pervez Musharraf’s official Twitter handle states,”He is not on the ventilator. Has been hospitalized for the last 3 weeks due to a complication of his ailment (Amyloidosis). Going through a difficult stage where recovery is not possible and organs are malfunctioning. Pray for ease in his daily living.”

This tweet is made by Musharraf’s family after a news of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf passing away circulated in Pakistan media which created confusion.

Pakistani media outlet Waqt News reported the demise of Pervez Musharraf on their Twitter handle. The tweet has since been deleted.

Meanwhile, a senior Pakistani journalist claimed that the news of Pervez Musharraf’s demise is “not true”.

Musharraf is the Pakistani politician and a retired four- star general who became the tenth president of Pakistan after the successful military takeover of the federal government in 1999. During the time of Musharraf’s presidency Pakistan had attacked India , the war is popularly known as Kargil War . The result of Kargil War is well known to everyone .

Musharraf has been declared a fugitive in former prime minister Benazir Bhutto murder case and Red Mosque cleric killing case. The former president, living in Dubai since 2016, was facing the treason case for suspending the Constitution in 2007. The former military ruler left for Dubai in March 2016 for medical treatment and has not returned since.
