(The Quiver) : On Monday, Middlesex cricket announced that Indian international quick bowler Umesh Yadav has signed terms with the club and will join for the remainder of the 2022 season. This morning the club received this confirmation that he is registered with the ECB, and Yadav has, as a result, now been named as the addition to Middlesex’s squad for this week’s game.Yadav will be available to play for the team in First-Class and List-A forms for the remainder of the season, contributing significantly to Middlesex’s County Championship and Royal London Cup campaigns.Yadav was not initially named in Middlesex’s squad to face Worcestershire this week at Merchant Taylor’s School as the Club delayed announcing his arrival until confirmation that his visa had been approved. The 34-year-old seamer, who was born in Nagpur, has a wealth of international experience. He has played 134 times for India, taking 273 wickets in 52 Tests, 77 One Day Internationals, and 7 International T20 matches. His overall career wicket tally exceeds 650 across all three game formats, and his greatest international performance for India was a 6 for 88 against the West Indies in the Hyderabad Test in 2018.Umesh joins Washinton Sundar, Krunal Pandya and Cheteshwar Pujara in getting gigs in English domestic circuit this season.”It was always our intention to have an overseas international bowler with us throughout the duration of the season, and since Shaheen returned to Pakistan prior to the start of our Blast campaign we’ve been looking for the right player to replace him. Yadav is that man” “He comes to us with a wealth of experience, he is a proven world-class performer, and he will be a fantastic role model for our younger bowlers to work alongside.” said Alan Coleman, Head of Men’s Performance Cricket at Middlesex.”As a bowler he offers huge amount. He has a deadly short ball, frequently hits 140 kph, and can move the ball both ways. In English conditions, he will be a real handful for opposition batters . We are happy to have Umesh join Middlesex and wish him luck while he is a member of the team, Coleman said.
