JASPRIT BUMRAH BECOMES WORLD NO. 1 ODI BOWLER

(The Quiver): Jasprit Bumrah stormed to No.1 in the ICC rankings for ODI bowlers after his 6/19 in the first ODI against England at the Oval on Tuesday.
Bumrah climbed three places to occupy the top spot. New-Zealand’s Trent Boult is ranked No.2 after sliding down from the one position, while Shaheen Afridi of Pakistan slipped down to No.3.
The Indian pacer was on the money during the first ODI against England on Tuesday as he ran through the English batting order. Jason Roy was Bumrah’s first wicket of the day and he dismissed Joe root in the same over.
The Indian pacer finished the day with an excellent six wicket haul in 7.2 overs while only giving up 19 runs. He also sent the dangerous Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone back to the pavilion. In 25.2 overs, England was bowled out for just 110 runs.
Suryakumar Yadav, who scored an incredible 117 against England in the third and final T20I on Sunday, rose to the top-10 of the ICC rankings for T20I batsmen. In the rankings, he rose 44 spots to claim the fifth spot. Yadav is currently the highest-ranked Indian on the list with Ishan Kishan in 12th being the next Indian.
India lost to England in the fifth Test match that was postponed, but they have been in great shape in the shorter formats. After winning the T20I series 2-1, India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
India also moved to No.3 in the ICC ODI rankings for teams after the 10-wicket victory over England.
The second ODI between the two teams to be played on Thursday at Lords,London.
