(The Quiver) : After finishing of 59.60m in the final attempt in Oregon on Thursday, Annu Rani booked her place in her second consecutive Championships final Javelin throw on June 21st. She put her dissatisfaction aside for not making to the final in the Tokyo Olympics last year.

Beginning her qualification round with a foul, she then came up with a 55.35 meters throw, but she saved her last to make it to the 12-

women final.
Leading up to the World Athletics Championship, she was in good touch as she went on to demolish her own record with a 63.82 attempt which she achieved in the AFI Indian Open event in Jamshedpur in May 2022.
With a throw of 64.32m, Japan’s Haruka Kitaguchi topped the qualification as China’s Shiying Liu finished 2nd with 63.86m. The 3rd player of the qualification round was Lithuania’s Liveta Jasiunaite with an attempt of 63.80m.
This will be Rani’s second consecutive final in World Athletics Championships after 2019 Doha edition.
Annu Rani will be in action in the final which is on July 22 in Oregon.
