INDIA GOT ITS 15TH AND THE FIRST TRIBAL PRESIDENT – DRAUPADI MURMU

(The Quiver) : With the latest announcement of election commissioner, Draupadi Murmu has become the 15th President of India. She is the first tribal woman to occupy the top constitutional post in the country. After her victory she is the 2nd woman President of India.

Murmu defeated opposition’s candidate Sinha in Presidential election 2022.The total number of valid votes is 3219 with total value of 8,38,839; Out of this, Droupadi Murmu got 2161 votes of the value of 5,77,777. Yashwant Sinha got 1058 votes of the value of 2,61,062, informs PC Mody, Secretary General, Rajya Sabha.

Although the 4th round of Presidential counting is going on, but Yashwant Sinha, Draupadi’s competitor has congratulated her by accepting his defeat . Draupadi has won one sided as maximum number of votes were for her.
