Olympic champion Neeraj, Rohit makes the cut to men’s Javelin final

(The Quiver) : It was indeed an historic moment at the Hayward Field in Eugene as they both Neeraj and Rohit qualified for the men’s javelin finals at the World Athletics Championships.


Yadav placed 11th with his best throw of 80.42m while Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra earlier that day advanced to his first World Championships final with a remarkable first-attempt throw of 88.39m.
83.50m was the mark for the athletes across two qualification rounds to make a direct entry into the final on Sunday.
Grenada’s Anderson Peters who is the reigning champion won the qualification round with 89.91m.
25-year-old Eldhose Paul became the first Indian to compete in the triple jump final with a leap of 16.68m in the triple jump competition.
Paul qualified for the final as he finished sixth in qualification round and 12th overall to final at the World Athletics Championships on Sunday.
