Axar Patel’s 64* guides India to series win over WI

(The Quiver) : On Sunday, India scripted a sensational series win over West Indies, courtesy to Axar Patel’s blistering knock of 64*of 35 balls in the second game at Port of Spain.

Earlier in the day as West-Indies opted to bat, West Indies scored an incredible 311 for six thanks to Shai Hope’s masterful 135-ball 117 and Nicholas Pooran’s 74 off 77 deliveries, which featured six fours and one maximum.

Patel and Hooda, India’s spinners, were economical (1/40, 1/42) while Yuzvendra Chahal (1/69) was costly after being hit for six sixes and two fours.

After setting a huge score of 312 runs, India started the innings more sedately with Gill’s 43 who looked in good nick as he showed intent from the word go before giving his wicket to Kyle Mayers.

Shreyas Iyer (63)and Sanju Samson(54) made decent contributions in India’s incredible chase. They both added 99 runs between them.

A 33-run cameo by Deepak Hooda in the end added to the team’s contribution.

Despite being 205 for five in 38.4 overs, the visitors were still able to complete their journey on Sunday with two balls to spare because to Patel’s six-hitting brilliance.

Axar Patel was adjusted the Man of Match for his match winning efforts.
