2025 Women’s World Cup to be played in India

(The Quiver) : On Tuesday, India are set to host the 2025 Women’s World Cup. During the ICC Annual conference, BCCI successfully bid for the mega event which got completed in Birmingham.

The ODI World Cup will be held in India in 2025, while England and Bangladesh will host the T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026, respectively. If Sri Lanka qualifies, they will set to host Β the T20 Champions Trophy in 2027.

With eight participating clubs and a total of 31 matches, the 2025 edition is anticipated to be identical to the 2022 edition.

“The ICC’s strategic priority is to accelerate the growth of the women’s game,” Taking these events to some of our sport’s biggest markets gives us a fantastic opportunity to do that and strengthen its connection with cricket’s more than one billion fans, ICC Chairman Greg Barclay said.

“The BCCI is still dedicated to supporting women’s cricket in India. We have the necessary infrastructure in place, and I am convinced that this World Cup will be a great success.” Jay Shah said.

India have hosted the event thrice in 1978, 1997 and in 2013.

They will be hosting this mega event for the first time since 2013.
