Jeffery Armstrong handed with prestigious award: Know what

(The Quiver): On Tuesday, Jeffery Armstrong was awarded with the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) distinguished ideologist for 2021. Armstrong, the founder of the Vedic Academy of Science & Arts and the author of The Bhagavad Gita Comes Alive, had been suggested by the Indian consulate general in Vancouver.

The prize recognizes excellent contributions to teaching, research, and the study of Indian philosophy, art, and ideas as well as Indian history, languages, civilization, and society.

Mr. Armstrong joins the previous winners from Germany, China, Japan, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and the United States as the award’s seventh recipient.

India’s first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad founded the ICCR award in 1950.

According to Sources, The Distinguished Ideologist Prize -2021 jury met in February 2022 as Mr. Jeffrey Armstrong was selected as the recipient.

The yearly prize was established in 2015 by the President of India at the First World Ideology Conference to brought eminent Ideologists from around the world and Indian scholars together to discuss the potential for boosting Indian studies overseas.

As a “relationship expert, philosopher, practitioner, and teacher of the Vedas for over 40 years,” Armstrong is referred to on his website.

Professor Heinrich Freiherr Von Stietencron of Germany was the first recipient in 2015.
