It Will Be Dangerous To Write Kohli Off: Adam Gilchrist

(The Quiver): Amidst all the talks that has been about Virat Kohli’s form, legendary wicketkeeper for Australia, Adam Gilchrist believes that Kohli shouldn’t be written out just yet. He has very high standards for himself. He is a cricketer with extensive expertise. Gilchrist said at the Bandra Kurla Indoor academy in MCA.

Gilchrist was interacting with the budding City cricketers in Mumbai.

The star batsman struggled against England at Edgbaston in the fifth and final test, managing only 11 and 20 runs. In the Odis too, he struggled with his form with 16 and 17 runs in two matches.

Gilchrist also predicted that India would place in the top four along with Pakistan, Australia, and England, will be top four the World T20, although he added that the hosts would be difficult to defeat at home.

Ricky Ponting also lend support to Kohli as he told the Indian management not to tinker with his batting position in T20Is.

“They probably should be trying to find new ways to get him back into form and help him out.” People will be worried if you move him from his place constantly as he will also be more disturbed with that.” The former Aussie skipper said.

Virat Kohli has not scored a century since November 2019.
