(The Quiver): On Friday, English football club Chelsea have signed defender Marc Cucurella for a six year contract from Brighton.

According to sources, both the club sides made an agreement of 63 million pounds ($76.46 million) for the 24-year old player.

“To join one of the most successful clubs is very pleasing as I will work hard to win games for the team. It is a huge opportunity for me to play for the team.” Cucurella said.

After joining Brighton in 2021, he made a total of 35 appearances for the side as they finished 9th last season.

With England forward Raheem Sterling and defender Kalidou, Cucurella becomes the third signing for the popular English football club.

We didn’t wanted to lose Marc, but he wanted a chance to in the Championship League Football which would add up his progress in the world cup squad of Spain. Football manager of Brighton Graham Potter said.

With a trip of Everton on Saturday, Chelsea will kickstart their campaign after finishing third last season.
