Serena Williams Set To Retire After US Open 2022

(The Quiver): On Tuesday, after dominating the sport for 23 years of her career, 7-time Wimbledon champion has announced her retirement from tennis. The US open 2022 will be her last event as she bids adieu to the game.

After a long layoff from tennis, She played her second singles round after beating Parrizas Diaz to reach the second round of Toronto Open.

“She is on the same level as Tom Brady, Lebron James, and Michael Jordan. She is comparable to one of the greatest athletes in the history of any sport, male or female.” John Mcenroe said.

“I wanted to choose between tennis and family. But I’m turning 41 in September and something is got to give.” she said.

Apart from her 23 grand slams titles, she has gone to won 14 women Grand slam doubles with her sister Venus Williams and four Olympic gold medals.
