India seal series with Comprehensive win over Zimbabwe
(The Quiver): On Saturday, India registered a clinical performance over the hosts with a 5-wicket victory at Harare Sports Club. They now go 2-0 up in the series with one match to which is to be played on 22nd August.
As It Happened
After been asked to bat first by India, Zimbabwe made a terrible start like in the previous game where they 5 wickets inside first 16 overs. Sean Williams (42) and Ryan Burl (39*) ensured the hosts to post a total of 161. The wicket was assisting the bowlers initially with Indian bowlers bowled well consistently to apply pressure on Zimbabwe.
Shardul Thakur picked up figures of 3-38 in India’s collective bowling performance.
In reply, India made a quick start with the bat before losing India’s captain KL Rahul for 1. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill carried the innings for a brief period after T. Chivanga trapped Dhawan for (33).
Later, Deepak Hooda (25) and Sanju Samson (43*) took India to a series win with a 5-wicket win at Harare.
