Sculptors Spent These Much Hours for Making Netaji’s Statue; Know How

(The Quiver): A large statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which is to be displayed outside the India Gate, was carved from a monolithic block of granite weighing 280 MT by a team of sculptors over the course of 26,000 man-hours of “intensive artistic endeavour.”

The 28-foot-tall statue of Bose will be unveiled at India Gate and the newly dedicated Kartavya Path, which runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan to that location, will be officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

This massive granite stone will travel 1,665 kilometers from Khammam in Telangana to New Delhi on a 100-ft-long truck with 140 wheels.

Led by Arun Yogiraj, the team of sculptures used traditional techniques and modern tools for the completion of the statue.

Featuring live music from Nashik’s Dhol Pathik Tasha and drums, some 30 artists will display tribal folk art forms like Sambalpuri, Panthi, Kalbelia, Kargam, and dummy horses in the amphitheatre near India Gate.

Following the main event on September 8, the festival at “Kartvya Path” would begin at 8:00 PM, and it would run from September 9 to 11 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
