FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup logo unveiled by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

(The Quiver): On Saturday, as one of the three hosts of the forthcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022, Odisha’s Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the state’s official host city logo.

“Odisha is developing as a major sports hub, and hosting the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 is a historic chance for our state,” Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik said during the launch event.

“Odisha’s official Host City Logo unveiling is a significant accomplishment that also represents the growth of women’s football. We are thrilled to host the world’s top young female players.” he added.

Ankush Arora and Nandini Arora, project directors for the local organising committee (LOC) for the competition, also expressed their gratitude and urged people to visit the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

“It brings us great pleasure that everyone continues to share the same goal of ensuring that all participating nations receive excellent hospitality as they get set to captivate audiences with their skill and aptitude.”

The day also marked the beginning of the carnival known as “Kick Off the Dream Football,” a unique initiative for schoolchildren. Its goal is to introduce football to kids and use its power to normalize gender-inclusive participation.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 is slated to take place in Odisha, Goa, and Maharashtra between October 11 and October 30.
