Remembering 9/11 Terror Attacks as it clocks 21 years

(The Quiver): 21 years after the deadliest terrorist assault on American soil, Americans are commemorating 9/11 with silence, readings of the names of the victims, volunteer work, and other memorials.

At the Pentagon, the World Trade Center in New York, and a field in Pennsylvania, where hijacked planes crashed on September 11, 2001, family members and dignitaries will gather on Sunday.

Candlelight vigils, interfaith services, and other commemorations are being held in other places across the nation to mark the occasion.

“Every 9/11 serves as a remainder of the things that I had lost and I can never recover” Sekou Siby who is CEO of ROC United said.

At Windows on the World, the eatery atop the North Tower of the trade center, more than 70 of Sekou Siby’s co-workers died in that deadly attack in 9/11/2001.

Having same kind of relationships with people was difficult and painful after that incident. he added.

19 terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial aircraft on September 11, 2001, on their way from the East Coast to California.

2,977 persons lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. This was the single deadliest attack on American soil that included a foreign nation.
