Mumbai Indians named Mark Boucher as Head Coach

(The Quiver): On Friday, Popular franchise team Mumbai Indians have appointed South African wicket-keeper Mark Boucher as its head coach for the upcoming IPL season.

Boucher has replaced Mahela Jayawardena who has led Mumbai Indians to three titles.

Being named the head coach of MI is both an honour and a privilege, “Their history and accomplishments as a franchise undoubtedly rank them among the most prosperous sports franchises in all of world sport.” Boucher said.

“I respect the necessity for results and look forward to the task. Strong players and excellent leadership are present in this group. I anticipate contributing to this dynamic unit,” he added.

He is currently playing the same role for South-Africa team at the moment as he will end his stint as coach after the ICC World T20 2022 in Australia.

Mark Boucher holds the record of most Test dismissals by a wicket-keeper.
