World’s Second Richest Person in the World is Gautam Adani

(The Quiver): Gautam Adani, a multibillionaire businessman, has surpassed Bernard Arnault to take over as the second richest person in the world. The chairman of the Adani Group’s current net worth is $155.5 billion which is (INR 12.37 lakh crore).

According to sources, Adani’s net worth increased by $5.2 billion, which is a hike of 3.49 %. He narrowly edges ahead of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and French tycoon Bernard Arnault. Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla holds the top position on the rich list.

On August 30, Adani passed Louis Vitton CEO Arnault to rank third in terms of wealth in the world.

Led by Mr Adani, Adani Group is a first-generation businessman, consists of seven publicly traded firms operating in a variety of industries, including infrastructure, mining, energy, and other fields.

Adani has pledged to invest up to $70 billion in renewable energy projects in his quest to become the greatest green energy generator in the world. He promised in June to donate $7.7 billion for humanitarian causes to celebrate his 60th birthday, increasing his charitable giving.

According to March 2022 stock exchange records, he holds 75% of Adani Enterprises, Adani Power, and Adani Transmissions. Additionally, he holds a 37% stake in Adani Total Gas, a 65% stake in Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, and a 61% stake in Adani Green Energy.

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, is the second Indian on the top 10 list and has a net worth of $92.2 billion. The top ten list also includes Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Warren Buffett, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin as billionaires.
