Rohit, Axar star as India win by 6 wickets in Nagpur
(The Quiver): On Friday, Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel helped India registered a 6 wicket over Australia to level the series 1-1 in Nagpur. The match was reduced to 8 over context because of wet conditions.
As it happened
After sent in to bat by India, Australia started in a brisk rate with Aaron Finch (31) playing with some intent in the powerplay. Axar Patel bowled consistent lines which was reflected in the figures of 2-13 in his 2 overs.
Later, Matthew Wade’s handy cameo of 43* lifted Australia to 90-5 in their 8 overs.
In the chase, Indian openers made a strong start with the bat with scoring 38 runs in the first 3 overs. Rahul and Kohli feel quickly trying to up the rate. Adam Zampa’s 3 wickets brought Australia back for a brief period, but Rohit Sharma’s 46* runs made India win the match to square the series 1-1.
