5G Internet Services to be launch by PM Modi from this date

(The Quiver): On October 1 during the India Mobile Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 5G services in India. 

The Department of Telecom, or DoT, had previously declared that the high-speed 5G internet would be introduced in phases, beginning with Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Jamnagar and Pune.

“About Rs 2.5–3 lakh crore worth of investment is expected in the industry. A huge investment would be Rs. 3 lakh crore. Additionally, this is producing a lot of decent jobs. In the upcoming two to three years, 5G will be available practically everywhere in the nation” Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on August.

A 5G lab has been already set up in IIT-Madras. He said.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) together organise the largest telecom, media, and technology gathering in Asia, known as the India Mobile Congress (IMC).
