Jasprit Bumrah Ruled out of ICC T20 World Cup 2022

(The Quiver): On Thursday, Due to a back stress fracture, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup. Bumrah complained of back strain during India’s practise session and was forced to miss the opening T20I of the series against South Africa.

According to sources, Bumrah won’t take part in the World T20, that much is certain. His back is in very bad shape. He may be out for six months due to the stress fracture.

Bumrah previously had to withdraw from the 2022 Asia Cup due to a back problem as well.

Since Bumrah is apparently out, India will likely choose between Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar, who have both been listed as standbys for the prestigious competition, to take Bumrah’s place.

The loss of Bumrah to the T20 World Cup is a devastating blow to the Indian team, which is already missing Ravindra Jadeja.
