Pakistan Ex Prime Minister Booked by Federal Probe Agency For This Reason

(The Quiver): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has charged Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other prominent members of his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party with receiving illegal financing from overseas.

According to sources, Arif Masood Naqvi, the owner of Wooton Cricket Limited, moved “ill-gotten” money to a bank account opened in the PTI’s name.

In Islamabad, the case was filled by the state through FIA’s Corporate Banking Circle.

To hide the true nature, origin, location, movement, and ownership of these monies, the SWIFT messages for the transactions claim that the goal of the transaction is a “agreed transfer.”

The former leaders of the ruling party broke the Foreign Exchange Act and were identified as the owners of suspicious bank accounts.

As signatories/beneficiaries of the PTI account in question, the complaint listed Imran Khan, Sardar Azhar Tariq Khan, Saifullah Khan Nyazee, Syed Yunus Ali Raza, Aamer Mehmood Kiani, Tariq Rahim Sheikh, Tariq Shafi, Faisal Maqbool Shaikh, Hamid Zaman, and Manzoor Ahmad Chaudhary.

In an affidavit presented by PTI to the Pakistani Election Commission, Arif Masood Naqvi stated that all funds collected in WCL accounts had been transferred to PTI accounts in Pakistan. This affidavit has been shown to be false or fabricated because two further transactions from WCL to two different accounts in Pakistan were also made in May 2013.

According to a three-member ECP bench led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikander (CEC) Sultan Raja, the party received financing from Wootton Cricket Limited.
