Mihir Das passed away at the age of 55 years while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Cuttack.

(The Quiver) Today, the sudden demise of Mihir Das left everyone in sorrow.  Mihir Das, the Veteran actor who ruled over the Ollywood industry for a period of more than three decades, passed away at the age of 55 year, at a hospital in Cuttack.  The actor was familiar to every Odia family. People never thought him apart from themselves as the actor shared a very familiar appearance with his simple way of living like all of us.  Before getting admitted in hospital the actor was hosting a popular Odia tv show.  In the show he was very actively solving the family issues of couples thus helping them to reunite again.

The actor was suffering from kidney ailments for past few years. He was admitted to the Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack after his health condition deteriorated on December 9 last year. Das was admitted to a private hospital after his health condition was critical following which he has been put on ventilator support. A team of doctors were constantly monitoring his health condition. Unfortunately, he took his last breath today.

Mihir Das was born in Mayurbhanj on February 17, 1966. He started his career by his debut in the Odia film industry with an art film School Master and then in commercial (non-art) film Mathura Bijay in 1979. After that he never looked back. He went on catering his audience with huge number of films making his audience happy and cry with his natural acting skills. His wonderful screen presence will always be cherished in hearts of his fans.

He received wider applause and recognition for his performance in Pua Mora Bholashankar.  he received Best Actor award from the state government for his performance in movies Laxmi Protima in 1998 and Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni in 2005.  He won the Best Supporting Actor award for his films Rakhi Bandhili Mo Rakhiba Mana in 2002 and Prema Adhei Akhyara from the Odisha state government. His another notable film Bhai hela bhagari is among the best hits of Ollywood.
