DHANUSH’S SHOCKING SEPARATION

(The Quiver) Atrangi re star Dhanush  shocked everybody by announcing his separation from filmmaker wife, Aishwaryaa  Rajinikanth . The couple ended 18 years of their marriage.

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa – daughter of megastar Rajinikanth,  had tied the knot in 2004 and are parents to two sons, Yatra and Linga, who were born in 2006 and 2010 respectively. Dhanush worked in Aishwaryaa’s directorial debut ‘3’ and the song ‘Kolaveri Di’ from the film became an instant hit.

The two shared a note announcing their separation on their respective social media accounts.

“Eighteen years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better”,”Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namashivaaya! Spread love, D,” Dhanush shared in a note on Twitter.

Aishwaryaa also shared the same note on her handles and wrote, “No caption needed…only your understanding n your love necessary!”

In 2021, Dhanush and Rajinikanth received National Awards. The legendary actor was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award while his son-in-law Dhanush won the National Film Award in the Best Actor category for his performance in Asuran. Aishwaryaa had attended the awards ceremony with the stars and even shared pictures on her Instagram account. She captioned the pictures as, “They are mine … and this is history #prouddaughter #proudwife.” Fans are dropping comments on this post and saying that their divorce has left them heartbroken. A comment on the post read, “This post made me happy couple of months back but now the same makes me sad.” 

Extending their support to the estranged couple during this hard time, fans shut down trolls and haters saying, “That’s unexpected and shocking! The reasons behind the break-up are none of our business. Media and fans should give them the space they need. We just wish #Dhanush and @ash_r_dhanush sis all the best for the future!”
