DHAWAN, IYER ARE NOW OUT OF COVID-19

(The Quiver): India opener Shikhar Dhawan and middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer have been cleared for training after testing negative for Covid-19. However, they are ruled out of the second ODI that is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Iyer and Dhawan went through some light training at the Narendra Modi Stadium under the watchful eyes of the BCCI medical team. Navdeep Saini, who was in isolation after contracting Covid-19, is also back with the team. Young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, however, is still in isolation. Earlier, before the first ODI against West Indies, Shreyas Iyer, Dhawan, Ruturaj, and Navdeep Saini had tested positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Vice-captain KL Rahul and batter Mayank Agarwal on Monday joined the India camp after missing the first ODI against West Indies. On Monday, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) took to Twitter to share pictures of Rahul, Mayank, and Saini training at the Narendra Modi Stadium as India began preparation for the second ODI, which will be played on Wednesday .
