Unit 1 Wholesale Vegetable Market To Get New Address

(The Quiver): The wholesale vegetable market at Unit I in Bhubaneswar will soon a new location. It will be shifted to Bhagabanpur, on the outskirts of the city.Located a few meters away from AG Square and near the Capital Police Station, the area gets highly congested during peak business hours leading to traffic jams.

The move will help decongest the present area which is located in the heart of the city.The decision was taken at a meeting of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Housing and Urban Development Department on Thursday. Modalities for shifting the market were also chalked out at the meeting.

The vegetable wholesale market will be developed on approximately 10 acre area. There will be arrangement for loading and unloading of the produces. As the market will be shifted to a place adjoining the National Highway, the transportation of goods will be easier,” said BMC City Engineer Arun Nayak.
