ASHWANI KUMAR RESIGNS FROM CONGRESS AMID POLLS

(The Quiver) : Former Union minister Ashwani Kumar quit the Congress party on Tuesday. In a letter ,he wrote to Congress president Sonia Gandhi mentioned, “concluded that in the present circumstances and consistent with my dignity, I can best subserve larger national causes outside the party fold”.

Kumar exits from the Congress party in the middle of assembly polls indicates a crack in congress party which is deepening with advancement of time . Before Kumar, several others like Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, Jitin Prasada, and RPN Singh are among those who have quit the Congress in recent years and joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and speculations are done that even Kumar will be doing the same.
