Strict Traffic Rules Imposed In Bhubaneswar To Check The Rule Violators

(The Quiver) : Strict traffic rules are imposed in Bhubaneswar to  limit occurrence of accidents . Careless driving will no longer be tolerated in the city. The Bhubaneswar Traffic Police has started issuing challan by SMS to vehicle owners basically for “crossing speed limit and using phone during driving”. CCTV footage of cameras installed by Bhubaneswar Smart city authority will check the careless drivers who violates the traffic rules.

Active ANPR/TVDS Camera’s are now operational at the 13 following traffic posts -Patia ,Power house , Kalinga stadium, Capital hospital, KIIT SQR , Sishubhawan SQR , KIIT Campus gate 3 ,Vanivihar SVDS ,Capital SQR SVDS , Sastrinagar SQR SVDS ,MID block rajmahal SVDS ,Trident Hotel SVDS  and Naka gate.

Driving more than 50 KM/HR will attract a fine of Rs 7000. After producing driving license the driver will have to settle the dues of Rs 2000. As clarified by the State Transport Authority that Driving License (DL) will be suspended for three months for driving above speed limit, red light jumping, drunken driving, using mobile phone while driving, carrying passengers in goods vehicle, not wearing helmet (both driver and pillion rider). After 3 suspensions driving license will be suspended permanently.
