PM MODI SENDING HIS MINISTERS TO EUROPE IN MISSION TO EVACUATE STUCK INDIANS

(The Quiver) : PM Modi has chaired a second high-level meeting over the prevailing crisis in Ukraine and gave top priority to evacuation of Indian nationals from the war zone Ukraine.

PM Modi held a two-hour-long meeting with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla , Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia,  Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju and a host of senior bureaucrats .

As confirmed by sources , Following discussions, it is decided that Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri , Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju and Gen VK Singh will be sent to Ukraine’s neighbouring nations to coordinate the evacuation operations.

India has started a special flight operation by Air India under ‘Operation Ganga’ to evacuate Indian nationals from Ukraine. A large number of Indians, mostly students, are stranded in Ukraine following Russia’s attack on the country. India has evacuated over 1,200 people from Ukraine  and brought back to the country since Saturday. So far, five flights have been brought back hundreds of Indians to Delhi and Mumbai.

PM Modi has also spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, with India calling for dialogue to defuse the crisis.
