INDIA WON OVER PAKISTAN IN WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2022

(The Quiver): On Sunday , India thrashed Pakistan by 107 runs in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2022 on Sunday.

The tournament held at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui . Mithali Raj-led Indian team defeating Pakistan in their opening game of the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 .

India had headed into their World Cup opener with a 10-0 record in ODIs and Mithali Raj’s side extended it as they continued their dominance over their neighbours in the 50-over format of the game. Barring opener Sidra Ameen (30), none of the other Pakistan batters were able to go past the 20-run mark in a disappointing show.

After posting a strong total of 244 runs on the board, Indian bowlers delivered a top-notch performance to knock out Pakistan for a paltry 137 and clinch their first win of the tournament in style. Rajeshwari Gayakwad was the star of the show for India with the ball as the left-arm spinner proved to be a big headache for the Pakistan battles on Sunday.Gayakwad produced a match-winning spell of 4/34 in 10 overs as she completed her quota well before the 40th over.
While opener Smriti Mandhana continued her stellar run with a solid half-century, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar gave India a strong finish with the bat with fifties apiece lower down the order.

With the win, Indian dhaakads have proved , the Women in Blue have never lost against Pakistan in the history of the Women’s World Cup with four wins in four encounters so far and will continue to do so.
