VACCINATION DRIVE WILL BEGIN FOR CHILDREN BETWEEN 12-14 AGE GROUP FROM MARCH 16

(The Quiver): India will start vaccinating all children against Covid- 19 in the 12-14 age group from Wednesday.

Biological E’s Corbevax will be administered to 12-14 years age-group. The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) is learnt to have given its recommendation to begin vaccination of children in the 12-15 years age group.

The government has also decided that the condition of co-morbidity for COVID-19 Precaution Dose for population over 60 years of age will be removed forthwith. Hence, from 16th March 2022 onwards, the entire population above 60 years of age will be eligible for precaution dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
”The vaccination of children in the age group of 12 -14 years is most likely to begin from Tuesday. Also, the co-morbidity clause for administering precaution doses to those aged 60 years and above would be removed,” an official source had earlier told news agency PTI.
