Explosion Destroyed Pakistan’s Sialkot cantonment

(The Quiver) : A massive explosion occurred in the northern Pakistani city of Sialkot on Sunday. The blast was so severe that its sound was reportedly heard near the cantonment area in the Punjab province.

ARY News quoting ISPR said an accidental fire broke out at the Sialkot Garrison, but there was no loss of life. According to the ISPR, the blast occured due to short-circuiting as an accidental fire broke out in an ammunition shed near Sialkot Garrison.

The Pakistan military’s media wing said ,”Due to effective and timely response, the damages were immediately contained and fire has been extinguished. No damage to property or loss of life.”

The Sialkot cantonment, one of the oldest and most important Pakistan army bases, is adjacent to the city. It was established by the British Indian Army in 1852. 

Several people are also posting out videos of the incident, claiming that there were multiple explosions that occurred in the area. In the videos, thick columns of grey and black smoke can be seen rising from the site.
