FAMILY, FRIENDS BID ADIEU TO SHANE WARNE AT A PRIVATE FUNERAL

(The Quiver): Australian spin legend Shane Warne’s funeral has taken place in his hometown Melbourne on Sunday. As per reports, the private funeral was attended by the late cricketer’s family and friends. The family members include his parents Keith and Brigette as well as his three children Brooke, Jackson, and, Summer respectively.

Warne passed away on March four this year due to a suspected heart attack aged 52. He was found dead in his hotel room in Thailand where he was holidaying with his friends. His sudden demise left the whole world shell-shocked and they all came forward to offer their last respects to the veteran leggie.

The members of the cricketing fraternity who were also the Melbourne cricketer’s friends were present for the occasion to bid adieu to the cricketer-turned-cricket pundit. They included the likes of the team’s former captains Allan Border, Mark Taylor, and Michael Clarke. Ex- England skipper Michael Vaughan was also reportedly in attendance. Other members who were present included the legendary Australian pace duo of Merv Hughes and Glenn McGrath.

The dynamic Aussie opener of the 90s Mark Waugh and ex-wicketkeeper-batter Ian Healy to name a few.Meanwhile, a state memorial will take place in the 1999 World Cup winner’s honor at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 30. Earlier this month, it was officially confirmed that the MCG’s Great Southern Stand will be renamed as the S.K. Warne Stand in the late spinner’s memory.
