N BIREN SINGH TAKEN OATH AS CM OF MANIPUR

(The Quiver) : Today, Nongthombam Biren Singh took oath as Chief Minister of Manipur for the second consecutive term as the 13th chief minister (CM) of Manipur.

Singh was administered the oath of office by the state’s Governor La Ganesan at Raj Bhawan in the capital Imphal. This marks the beginning of his second term as the CM of the state.BJP national president JP Nadda had arrived in Manipur ahead of the ceremony, and was welcomed by Singh.

Biren Singh was quoted by ANI, “My Government’s first step will be to make it a corruption-free state. I would work day and night to wash out corruption from the state. The next step will be to wash out any kind of drug-related matter from the state.”

BJP won an absolute majority in the state for the first time. It will be the second successive government of the party in the state.

Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Kiren Rijiju also congratulated the re-elected leader by posting on their Twitter handle.
