NITISH KUMAR ATTACKED BY MAN DURING FUNCTION AT HOME TOWN

(The Quiver): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was attacked by a man on Sunday in his home district of Bakhtiyarpur. The Chief Minister had gone to Bakhtiyarpur to attend a private function when a man came near him and slapped him.

The CM did not suffer any injury and the cops had immediately taken the accused man in custody for interrogation. The accused person is said to be mentally unsound.

Footage from CCTV cameras showed the attack taking place as the Chief Minister was about to pay his respects to the statue of Shilbhadra Yaji, a noted freedom fighter from the state, at the local Safar hospital complex.

The man, who came from behind, was seen walking up the dais in rapid steps and striking Mr Kumar – who had bent to make a floral offering to the statue — on the back. He was immediately dragged off by the Chief Minister’s security personnel.

This is not the first time when Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has been targeted. During the 2020 Bihar Assembly election when the CM was addressing a poll campaign in Bihar’s Madhubani district, a person from the audience had attacked CM Nitish with onion and bricks. CM’s bodyguard present on the stage had protected the CM back then.
